SpyWare is a little program installed on your computer (with or without your knowledge) to track your actions as you perform your daily activities.

Most of them are relatively harmless, anonymously tracking where you go online to create demographic data for marketers. However, they can be configured to capture private information and send data back to the home computer from yours.

Typically though, most of the harm is done by slowing down your computer. By not actively keeping SpyWare in check, you can end up with hundreds of these little programs running on your computer, which can slow it to a crawl.

If your computer has been getting slower over time, suspect SpyWare. There are several good ones on the market today. One of the free ones we have used with very good success is Spybot.
